Continuum quantum ferromagnets at finite temperature and the quantum Hall effect.

چکیده
We study finite temperature (T ) properties of the continuum quantum field theory of systems with a ferromagnetic ground state. A scaling theory of the T = 0 system is discussed carefully, and its consequences for crossovers between different finite T regimes in dimensions 1, 2, and 3 are described. The results are compared with recent NMR measurements of the magnetization of a quantum Hall system with filling factor ν = 1; we predict that the relaxation rate 1/T1 of this system may have a finite T “ferromagnetic coherence peak”. Metallic Continuum Quantum Ferromagnets at Finite Tem- perature
– We study via renormalization group (RG) and large N methods the problem of continuum SU(N) quantum Heisenberg ferromagnets (QHF) coupled to gapless electrons. We establish the phase diagram of the dissipative problem and investigate the changes in the Curie temperature, magnetization, and magnetic correlation length due to dissipation and both thermal and quantum fluctuations. We show that th...
متن کاملDissipative Transport in Quantum Hall Ferromagnets by Spinwave Scattering
We report on a study of the effect upon electrical transport of spinwave scattering from charged quasiparticles in ν = 1 quantum Hall ferromagnets (QHFs), including both Heisenberg (single layer) and easy-plane (bilayer) cases. We derive a quantum Langevin equation to describe the resulting diffusive motion of the charged particle and use this to calculate the contribution to low temperature co...
متن کاملشبیه سازی اثر بی نظمی و میدان مغناطیسی بر ترابرد کوانتومی نانوساختارهای دو بعدی مدل شده با تقریب تنگابست
In recent years, semiconductor nanostructures have become the model systems of choice for investigation of electrical conduction on short length scales. Quantum transport is studied in a two dimensional electron gas because of the combination of a large Fermi wavelength and large mean free path. In the present work, a numerical method is implemented in order to contribute to the understanding ...
متن کاملThe Effect of Exchange-Correlation Holes on the Temperature Dependent Dynamic Dielectric Function of Single-Layer Quantum Wells and Coupled Nanolayers
In this paper, for the first time we have studied theoretically the effect of exchange-correlation holes around electrons in GaAlAs/GaAs/GaAlAs nanostructure on the temperature-dependent dynamic dielectric function of two-dimensional electron gas by employing random phase, STLS and Hubbard approximations. Also, we have investigated another interesting system which is coupled quantum wells struc...
متن کاملFinite temperature correlation function of two dissipative massive scalar fields: Thermofield approach
The present paper aims at investigating the manner of two dissipative massive scalar fields. Two massive scalar fields that interact with a reservoir were considered and a reservoir was modeled by continuum Klein-Gordon fields. The Lagrangian of the total system was canonically quantized and the dynamics of the system was determined using the Euler-Lagrange equation. Then, the explicit form of the...
